Product Description An astonishing book revealing the cause and successful treatment for the plague of illnesses affecting western civilization; including obesity, heart attacks, depression, diabetes, strokes, headaches, chronic fatigue, and many more. In Dr. Starr's description of Type 2 Hypothyroidism, he presents overwhelming evidence showing a majority of Americans suffer this illness, which is due to environmental and hereditary factors. Laboratory testing used to diagnose hypothyroidism is completely inadequate, and current treatment for hypothyroidism is ineffective. Groundbreaking research shows how persistent environmental toxins prevent thyroid and other hormones from working properly. This book will lead you to understanding more about your health than anything you have ever read.

The best Book ever July 26, 2010 Judith Timko (NJ) This book is such a great read. Even if you have not ever been diagnosed with Hypothyroid, you should read this book. Especially if you haven't.
The information in the book is eye opening. Now I know for sure why I feel the way I do and know why certain people in my family died.
I have switched my meds to desiccated thyroid hormone as indicated in the book. It's just a month and I already see an improvement from my Synthroid.
This book may have saved my life.
Naturopath from Australia says excellent book/first class research July 2, 2010 robert mcewan The book is a must read for practitioners/Doctors as well as the public people, they need to know about this epidemic that is not picked up by blood tests. Thank you Robert M.

Dr. Starr's book is very informative. A family history of thyroid problems prompted our research into thyroid disease. Dr. Starr is absolutely correct. Mainstream doctors poo-poo the idea of Hypothyroidism Type 2. If the TSH blood test doesn't show a problem, there is no problem. They become very defensive if questioned.
If you want to know how important your thyroid gland is, read this book. It is well written and well documented.
Best book ever written April 16, 2010 L. Satterfield (San Diego, CA) I am so impressed with Dr. Starr's book! He shows the actual research that has already been done on thyroid issues. He proves his case with established research. It is very solid.
Obviously, he has imporved his own thyroid condition to the extent that he can think very well.
I have suffered from this condition for a number of years. The book cracked open my problem, exposing the myriad symptoms for the syndrome they are.
Dr. Starr offers a simple and safe suggestion that a patient can improve this condition with natural dessicated thyroid.
He is on it! Suffice to say, with my condition corrected, I feel he has saved my life. Please read this book.

Hypothyroidism Type 2: The epidemic April 14, 2010 Jill C. Peters I listened to Dr. Starr on a radio program, thought his book would be a "must buy" Its easier to listen to him than read with understanding all he has to say in the book. Somewhat technical for my taste. Will continue to read it at a later time.
